Elementary Library Procedures



 Elementary Library Procedures – Students and Parents

1.   The morning you have library I will place a cart in your classroom.
2.   Please be sure you have put your book in the cart. I will not allow a student to return to the classroom to get their book during library time.
3.   I will be sending a note electronically to the parents of students with overdue books and fines through Info Direct.
4.   Overdue fees are 10 cents for each day the book is late.
5.   Students can renew books but they must have the book with them to renew.
6.   If a student does not return the book to the library they may not take out a book that day.
7.   Elementary students may sign out 1 book a week.  If the upper elementary is doing a book report they may take out 2 books. One for the report and one for recreational reading.
8.   I am asking fines to be paid to the library to reduce paperwork. I also think this will help the children to understand the cost and responsibility of not returning books on time.
